You may be aware of the recent marina fires which have occurred over the last few months; Torquay Marina, Seabrook Harbor & Marine in New Orleans, Queensland, Corfu and most recently another one in Conneticut Marina.
In light of these incidents, we have been working with Merseyside Fire & Rescue to improve our fire prevention and our fire evacuation plans.
In partnership with MSFR and Safepoint, we invite you to a Fire Safety presentation on the 15th of December in the Spinnaker Suite.
Tim Selby from MSFR along with specialist fire units will be in attendance to conduct a home safety adapted for vessels. He will be discussing common risk factors and what to do in case of a fire emergency at the marina. The fire units will be on hand to fit smoke detectors to any vessels who currently do not have any on board and they will be available for a Q&A post presentation.
Steve Cartwright from Safepoint has over 20 years’ experience in marine Health & Safety and will be in attendance to talk broadly about Marina and boat fire safety.
Timings are still TBC but we're aiming to kick off at 12.30pm. We will be providing complimentary teas & coffees throughout.
