Team Updates

As we reopen following the easing of lock down restrictions, there have been several internal changes to our team and our operations.

Whilst we plough through our 2021 maintenance programme, you may have noticed some new faces around the marina...

Brothers Kevin (L) and Phil (R) joined our maintenance team in April to help the existing team catch up on some essential maintenance works whilst we reopened for peak season. They have been a fantastic addition to a close knit team and have applied their skills to both day to day maintenance and special projects across the marina.

Sadly, Phil leaves his brother behind as he will be shortly leaving us to return to his contracted role in Saudi Arabia, but his spot will be reserved for when he returns which we look forward to.

Our favourite ‘man of the marina‘ Colin, who has been a valuable member of the team since 2017 will sadly be retiring on July 6th. Colin has been essential for his vast knowledge and key fabrication skills and has been a lead figure on the majority of major structural projects the marina. ‘Colins cabin‘ will certainly miss the daily cups of tea and flying sparks!

An update of our plans for Colins departure will be sent separately if you wish to say goodbye.

The ever familiar Craig who is best known for being a friendly face in the office has been promoted to Head Lock Keeper! Craig has moved around the business since his employment began in 2010; from car park manager, lock keeper, maintenance team to more recently Office Assistant. His knowledge of our internal systems and processes made him a perfect candidate to help us bridge the communication between the lock and the office and we look forward to the upcoming changes Craig will be managing through. Craig can now be contacted directly at lock@liverpoolmarina.com.

We congratulate Danny on his recent promotion to Maintenance Supervisor! As the team work non-stop through a fairly relentless maintenance programme, Danny has been on hand to ensure everyone knows their stations for the day and has been an essential communications lead between the front line and our senior management. Danny is responsible for ensuring all scheduled jobs are completed on time and to specification across services, general maintenance and special projects. So far, Danny is doing a fantastic job and we look forward to the improvements this internal change will continue to bring.

A number of you raised concerns that our office was closed over the weekends, causing frustrations around visitor check ins, parking, trolleys, maintenance faults and electricity cards.

Joining the team for the weekends going forwards is Maryanne! Maryanne will be on hand in the office Saturday & Sunday between 9am - 5pm and will be able to assist you with the majority of your queries. Please be patient whilst Maryanne undergoes training and continue to use the online services where possible until she has every element of the marina firmly under her belt! As always for any immediate issues or emergencies, please call 07711959222 until the training plan has been completed.

Please do take the time to say hello to Maryanne when you’re next passing through!

As most of you now know, I am expecting my first little one who is due 23rd August! I will be leaving for maternity on the 9th August and will return be on a phased return from the 29th November until the 3rd January. All accounts queries will be managed by a temporary lead with our external accountants, details which will follow. All other areas will be managed internally with the existing team during my absence. For the period of my maternity, the emergency out of hours number will be updated and will be displayed on the website, in the marina foyer and on email.

Please join us in welcoming all new team members, congratuling those with promotions and saying farewell to those sadly leaving us when you next see them around the marina!

If you have any questions about the recent changes, please do email me chloe@liverpoolmarina.com
