Liverpool Marina is ideally placed for those wishing to cruise the Irish Sea offering a huge choice of destinations for the cruising yachtsman from the beautiful coasts of North and West Wales, the Isle of Man, Ireland, Cumbria an Scotland.
For the racing yachtsman the Liverpool Yacht Club racing series have become some of the best attended events on the West coast of England. With regular racing fleets in excess of 30 boats, you can be assured of keen competition whether you are sailing the latest one design flying machine or the family cruiser. And with racing throughout the year you will double the length of your sailing season!
For the weekend sailor Conway or the Menai Straits are ideal goals being only 35nm or 40nm to the West respectively. To the North, Fleetwood or the Isle of Man are ideal staging points for the East Coast of Scotland with its endless cruising possibilities. Finally both Southern and Northern Ireland make a first class destination for those planning a longer cruising holiday.
Whilst in Liverpool it is worth taking some time to visit the local attractions particularly the Albert Dock, the Maritime Museum and the Tate Art gallery which are all within 10 minutes walk of the Liverpool Marina.
Liverpool is a lively, cosmopolitan city with an unsurpassed range of attractions along the waterfront, in the city centre and the suburbs. Its rich and colourful culture and heritage are reflected in the warmth and humour of its citizens and in its magnificent buildings. Birthplace of the Beatles, home to two premier football clubs and the famous Grand National, eight National Museums and Galleries and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Liverpool is famous throughout the world. The world renowned Albert Dock complex is only ten minutes walk from the Marina and the busy town centre another five. Regular buses run into town and taxis are available within minutes.
